Clean Grout & Tile
Use these housekeeping tips to clean tile and grout:
-
Do not use alkaline based cleaners for grout cleaning such as bleach / ammonia / etc
-
Use ACID based cleaners. For safety use phosphoric, oxalic, or sulfamic (or combination) found in products such as Bar Keepers Friend, “The works bathroom cleaner”, etc.
-
Don’t use HCL or Muriatic acid as this can ruin stainless steel with fumes and is too harsh on your grout
Remember, bleach and other alkaline based chemicals, by their design, are not great on grout as they are the opposite on the ph spectrum of what is recommended. Stains in grout are 75% hard water / limescale related and acid is a great way to counter this.
